From Monday, June 23 through Friday, June 27th, Flaxie Packs will be closed so our family can run away for our annual trip to Bethany Beach, DE
Seems like it gets harder and harder to set that week aside, but I will always move heaven and earth to do it.
Some of my happiest memories of growing up are the weeks we spent in Hampton Beach, NH with all my father’s brothers and their wives and kids– my uncles, aunts and cousins, many of whom are still among my favorite people to this day. We tried one big house one year, but when Aunt Carolyn cut my brother’s PBJ in squares instead of triangles (among other things, I’m pretty sure), the adults revisited all that 24/7 togetherness. So we went all Kennedy-at-Hyanisport and created our own little compound, each with a different family in a different house within a stone’s throw of one another. That turned out to be the recipe that worked, and we did it for many, many years.
I want that joy for my kids and their families as well, so we carve out the time no matter what it takes. So thanks in advance for understanding– Happy Summer!
