Cold Comfort

heel-painTake care of your feet, and your feet will take care of you! That’s how the old saying goes, and truer words were never spoken.

We had a wonderful vacation at Bethany Beach, but walking on the sand carrying all that gear seems to have aggravated my right Achilles tendon. Or something. All of a sudden there’s this egg-sized painful lump on the back of my heel that I’m not going to be able to ignore. So it’s off to the Foot & Ankle specialist I go, but until I can get in, I’ve got a secret weapon…

…an ice cold Flaxie Pack!

Seriously, friends, even fresh out of the freezer, the temperature is perfect– plenty cold, but not painfully so. And because the flax seed is so high in natural oils, it stays soft and mold-able. At the end of the day, I just put that foot right up– and my heel rests comfortably in this perfect little nest of soft, cold seed. The relief is tremendous! And it stays cold for hours.

If you suffer from plantar fasciitis or other painful conditions of the foot, arch, heel or ankle, by all means see your doctor! But think about getting a Flaxie Pack, too. I guarantee you’ll never go back to a gel wrap or a plastic bag of sharp-edged ice again!
