Remember the TV show “Cheers?” Sam, Diane, Coach, Carla, Normie…and that great theme song! The lyrics have dimmed over time, but the upshot of the refrain was something like “You wanna go where people know/Troubles are all the same/You wanna go where everybody knows your name.”
I think of that song when I stop into Dublin Roasters Coffee. Okay, so they don’t serve booze but that’s not the point. And that wasn’t the point of Cheers either. The most important thing is that both places are a real community– the same people are behind the counter, there’s a slew of regulars and you just might hear somebody order “the usual” with confidence that somebody who works there knows what they’re talking about. They’ve got live music and open mics, book signings, club meetings, friends catching up over coffee or a light lunch and the lovely Michelle doing seated massage on Mondays.
They also have a section of the coffee house dedicated to consignment of local and global wares. I’m delighted to announce that starting today, Flaxie Pack Originals and Wraps are available on those shelves! Since we don’t have a bricks and mortar store, we are working on building a network of retail partners whose businesses would be a good fit for our products. Dublin Roasters is a match made in heaven!
P.S. Dublin Roasters was awarded Frederick’s Best Coffee House for 2015 by Frederick Magazine readers. Stop by…you’ll see why!
