On October 11 & 12, 2014, Flaxie Packs will be taking it to the streets at the 51st Annual Catoctin Colorfest at Thurmont Community Park on Frederick Road. Space is limited and competition is fierce, so we are more than delighted to have scored one of the most popular spots on the craft show circuit– thank you, judges!
“Colorfest” takes place over the second full weekend in October every year in the sleepy, north-county town Thurmont, Maryland. (Population: 6,000). The festival began in 1963 as a nature walk, but quickly evolved into a juried Arts & Crafts Show featuring 300 well known and respected artists from across the United States. One of the largest shows of its kind on the East Coast, Catoctin Colorfest has been recognized in Sunshine Artists Magazine, and is currently ranked in the top 35 shows in the United States!
If you go: The hours of operation are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day. Admission is free. Demonstrations by our fellow crafters will be taking place throughout the two days, and we will be loaded to the rafters of our 10 x 10 pop-up tent with freshly-made, perfect-for-gift-giving Flaxie Packs! Please stop by and say hello– we’d love to meet you. Until then, see you online!
Note: The Town of Thurmont is located at the base of the beautiful Catoctin Mountains in Frederick County, Maryland. It is easily accessible via route U.S. 15 and is a pleasant scenic drive from points north and south. Thurmont is approximately 50 miles from Washington, D.C. and Baltimore, Maryland or Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
