Every Tuesday– or Wednesday if it’s been “that kind of week,” or Monday if we know it’s going to be– we blog about the “People Behind the Packs.” We want to introduce you to the members of our family and our other partners, all of whom are working together to bring you what we hope is the best product of its kind on the market.
Design consultant and head seamstress Julie Holmes has brought 12 years of experience as a massage therapist to the development of Flaxie Packs from Day One. When we were looking for a single, multi-purpose size and shape to launch the product line, it was Julie who suggested the versatile, 9″ x 12″ rectangle. And while flax seed is far more expensive than other fillers like rice and corn, Julie’s experience told us not to compromise on using the oil-rich, 100% pure, farm fresh flax seed that is the key to what we feel is the best product of its kind on the market.
In addition to taking care of her private clients, Julie also teaches a variety of massage therapy modalities at the York, PA campus of the well-known Baltimore School of Massage.
Julie helps with fabric selection, and takes great pride in sewing some of our products herself in her home studio. And because consistency is important even with handmade items, she’s also our liaison with our other home-based sewers, checking to be sure the Flaxie Pack recipe for effective, 100% natural relief is being carried out to a “T.”
Julie and her husband have one son.
