One of the questions we get asked a lot when we are out and about at craft shows and health expos is, “When are you going on Shark Tank? These are great! One of those investors would pick you guys up in a heartbeat!”
For anyone who doesn’t know, Shark Tank is a reality TV that has entrepreneurs pitch their products to a panel of extremely successful venture capitalists, looking for underwriting to take their small businesses to the next level– and hopefully make them millionaires at some point.
We’re always flattered by the suggestion that we should put Flaxie Packs in front of these giants of industry, but our answer to this question is always somewhere between “Never” and “When he&# freezes over.”
Why?
Because Flaxie Packs are made in America. No excuses. No compromises. No discussion.
If you’ve ever watched the show, the first thing the Shark Tank “sharks” want to do is drive the cost per item down to maximize their profits– no matter what the cost to the quality of the goods. And we won’t now nor will we ever take our production offshore.
Flaxie Packs are hand made in America by registered seamstresses and craftsmen. Every fabricator is a member of our family, or someone we consider “family.” The fabrics are designed by top American quilters and textile designers, and manufactured at mills that help drive the U.S. economy Our flax seed is grown on a family farm in North Dakota– they’ve grown grain and seed for several generations, and they are sure enough of its purity to put their name on it. That’s good enough for us.
Flaxie Packs is one of our family businesses, and– thanks to you and your support– it is growing and thriving. There are some things they may change as the years go by– new designs, new fabrics, more wholesale opportunities…even a bricks and mortar store…but one thing will never change: we import nothing, we make them by hand and we are proud to say without a doubt…
Flaxie Packs: Made in the USA.
