YES! The temperatures outside are finally rising…and that means warmer hands and feet for many of us. But for those who suffer from a circulatory condition called Raynaud’s disease (or Raynaud’s phenomenon), over air-conditioned spaces– or even picking up an ice-cold glass or beverage container– can cause pain and discoloration– any time of year.
Here’s what our favorite Frederick chiropractor, Dr. Cassie Dougherty has to say about Raynaud’s and Flaxie Packs:
“Raynaud’s disease is a circulatory condition which causes vasospasm (constriction) of the tiny blood vessels that supply blood to the tips of fingers, toes, nose, earlobes, etc. I have primary Raynaud’s– and when my hands are exposed to cold, it’s only a matter of minutes before I lose circulation to the tips of my fingers and toes. They started tingling and burning a little, and before I know it, I have pale yellow finger tips with no circulation.(See top photos to the left)
I have tried taking warm showers, warming my hands in water, removing myself from the cold scenarios and wearing gloves, but these methods haven’t help much (if at all), and some of them are quite inconvenient.
Last year, I discovered Flaxie Packs ™, the microwavable wraps and pillows in various sizes filled with 100% pure flax seed. that are made right here in Frederick, MD. I just popped my Flaxie Original™ in the microwave for a few minutes, and let the haling begin. After just 2 short, magical minutes of warmth, the circulation came back to my fingers and I now longer had the annoying, tingling, numb feeling!
Flaxie Packs help me manage my Raynaud’s disease, and (dare I say it? made this winter warm, cozy, comfortable and even enjoyable. The only thing I regret is not getting a Flaxie Pack sooner!
